Hamas Delegate Blames Netanyahu for Negotiations Stalemate: Still Hopeful for Agreement with Israel
In an interview with Saudi TV channel Al-Sharak, a member of the Hamas delegation at the negotiations in Cairo blamed Benjamin Netanyahu for the lack of progress in negotiations with Israel. The member emphasized that the Islamic Resistance Movement is prepared to return to the negotiating table if a second party appears.
The Hamas representative stated that they did not withdraw from the negotiations or reject the Egyptian mediators, and they waited for the Israeli delegation for two days in Cairo, but they did not show up. However, despite this setback, the Hamas delegation expressed that they are still interested in reaching an agreement and are willing to continue negotiations. They mentioned that Hamas has proposed its own ideas on certain points of the agreement and is awaiting a clear response from the Israeli side.
The Hamas representative also commented that Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements have increased suspicions that his true intentions are to continue the war. However, there is still a possibility of reaching an agreement if the other party is serious about finding common ground. The Hamas delegation reiterated their commitment to peace and diplomacy as a way forward for both sides.
