Man with largest feet in the world gets custom shoes

Towering Over: The Journey of Jeison Rodriguez Hernandez, the Man with the World’s Largest Feet

Jeison Rodriguez Hernandez, a 28-year-old Venezuelan man with the world’s biggest feet, recently received new shoes from a German specialist maker. Despite facing challenges due to his rare condition, he remains positive and grateful for the opportunities that have come his way.

Rodriguez Hernandez has had an uncontrollable growth of his feet due to a rare condition called acromegaly. This condition results from the anterior pituitary gland producing excess growth hormone, requiring him to undergo regular check-ups and follow a specialized diet. In 2015, he earned the Guinness distinction for having the world’s largest feet when an adjudicator visited him in his hometown of Maracay, near Caracas.

Despite not claiming the title of the tallest person in the world, which is held by Sultan Kösen at 8 feet 2 inches, Rodriguez Hernandez has gained popularity in his community. He recalls being bullied as a child due to his size but now embraces his uniqueness, with people often asking him for photos on the streets. The German Embassy in Venezuela shared that shoemaker Georg Wessels has been creating custom shoes for Rodriguez Hernandez for some time. Wessels recently traveled to Venezuela to deliver size 70 shoes in Venezuelan measurements to Rodriguez Hernandez, who stands at a towering 7 feet 3 inches.
