Fire crews in Summerville respond to early morning fire at local business

Summerville Fire Damages Multiple Businesses on Old Trolley Road

Commercial fire on Old Trolley Road in Summerville, South Carolina caused smoke and water damage to multiple businesses. The incident occurred early Sunday morning and prompted authorities to close Old Trolley Road at Beverly Drive around 4:30 a.m. The road was reopened just before 7 a.m.

Chief Fire Marshal Jeremiah Lee stated that the fire was reported on the 1200 block of Old Trolley Road, but there were no signs of fire from the outside. Crews encountered smoke and heat upon entry, indicating a fire was present. They were able to locate and control the fire in less than five minutes, but neighboring businesses suffered smoke and water damage.
