Sprouts Farmers Market’s 2023 Impact Report: Promoting Sustainability and People, Creating Thriving Communities and Empowering Team Members

Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Market’s “2023 Impact Report” showcases the company’s achievements over the past year, including promoting 21% of team members and creating 3,000 new jobs. The report highlights Sprouts’ goals of curating impactful products, ensuring a thriving planet, developing purposeful people, and supporting healthy communities.

Sprouts’ chief sustainability officer, Brandon Lombardi, praised the dedication of the company’s 32,000 team members in bringing its purpose of helping people live and eat better to life. Key highlights from the report include 19% of total sales coming from fruits and vegetables, $3.3 billion in sales of products with social or environmental attributes, a 30% organic sales penetration in Sprouts brand products, and $225 million in local produce sales from a network of 170 farmers.

In terms of team development, Sprouts Farmers Market promoted 21% of team members and created 3,000 new jobs. Additionally, 64% of store manager positions were filled with internal candidates, $21 million in bonuses were paid to field associates, and 17,000 leadership training hours were delivered. The company also made significant contributions to Healthy Communities by donating food to nonprofits and volunteering service hours by associates.

Sprouts operates more than 400 stores in 23 states nationwide and has earned recognition for its commitment to sustainability and community support by being listed on Progressive Grocer’s top food retailers list in North America.
