Manson School District opts against pursuing Economy Efficiency Waiver for 4-Day School Week

Manson School Board Reveals No Change to Five-Day-a-Week Schedule for 2024-2025 Academic Year

The Manson School Board has announced that it will stick with its current five-day-a-week schedule for the 2024-2025 academic year. This means they will not be pursuing an Economy Efficiency Waiver, also known as the 4-Day Student School Week.

Superintendent Tabatha Mires emphasized that the board is focusing on strategic planning and budgeting at this time. She expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who provided input on the matter, as their perspectives were carefully considered by the board. The decision to maintain the five-day-a-week schedule reflects the board’s commitment to the current structure of the school calendar.

The board members felt that they were not fully prepared to discuss the potential change, as recent legislation had expanded the number of districts eligible to consider a four-day student week. As a result, the consideration of this change will not be included in board meeting agendas at this time. Further discussions may take place in the fall of 2024.
