Spire Motorsports Signs Michael McDowell to Multi-Year Contract for NASCAR Season: Team Ready for Rookie Battle

Spire Motorsports has announced a multi-year contract with Michael McDowell to join the team for the upcoming season. McDowell, who has been driving for Front Row Motorsports since 2018, will drive the No. 71 car for Spire alongside Corey LaJoie and Carson Hocevar. Zane Smith, who is currently driving the No. 71 car, is on loan from Trackhouse Racing.

McDowell expressed his gratitude for the opportunity with Spire Motorsports and emphasized his commitment to hard work in order to achieve success as a team. In a statement, he said, “I am excited to join Spire Motorsports and look forward to contributing to their success. I am committed to working hard and giving my best every time I step into the car.”

Spire Motorsports president Doug Duchardt praised McDowell’s winning experience and NASCAR Playoff pedigree, emphasizing his enthusiasm and commitment to elevating teams. He also mentioned the team’s support for Zane Smith and Stephan Doran, and their collaboration with Trackhouse Racing, expressing excitement for the Rookie of the Year battle between Zane and Carson.
