Volunteers from New York Cares Assist PS 135 Students with Science Projects

Science and Service: New York Cares Expands Volunteer Opportunities during National Volunteer Week

New York Cares is set to provide over 200 volunteer opportunities during National Volunteer Week from April 19-25. The organization is dedicated to engaging over one thousand volunteers to serve those in need across the five boroughs of New York City.

As part of the National Volunteer Week activities, New York Cares volunteers recently assisted fifth-grade students at PS 135 Sheldon A. Brookner in Brooklyn with science experiments. The students were able to enhance their understanding of core science concepts and apply their knowledge to complete various projects, such as creating solar-paneled racers and constructing erupting volcanoes.

These volunteer activities provide an opportunity for individuals to make a positive impact in their community and support those who require assistance.
