Mouse and keyboard support now available on Xbox Cloud Gaming, featuring Fortnite and Doom 64

Revolutionizing Gaming on PC: Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming Adds Mouse and Keyboard Support for Select Games

Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming service now supports the use of mouse and keyboard for PC users in its preview version. This allows players to enjoy titles such as Fortnite, Doom 64, and Sea of Thieves using these peripherals on Edge and Chrome browsers, as well as the Xbox app on Windows PC.

Previously, players had to connect a controller to play games from the Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog on PC. However, some users preferred using a mouse and keyboard for better control while gaming on their computers. To address this need, Xbox began working on adding mouse and keyboard support in March 2022.

Now, two years later, Xbox has announced that support for mouse and keyboard has been added for select games in the Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog on PC. The feature is currently available in compatible browsers like Edge and Chrome, as well as the Xbox app on Windows computers. However, it is only accessible to users enrolled in the PC Gaming Preview program.

Using a mouse and keyboard is now possible when playing a variety of games in the Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog. Titles such as Fortnite, ARK Survival Evolved, Sea of Thieves, and Halo Infinite now support these peripherals. To utilize this feature effectively, players must enable preview features in their browser and play games in full-screen mode.

While some games may initially display controller UI elements when using a mouse and keyboard, they will adapt to these controls once the player starts using them. This new feature aims to enhance the gaming experience for players who prefer using a mouse and keyboard on PC.

The addition of mouse and keyboard support for Xbox Cloud Gaming is an excellent development that provides more options for gamers who want to use different input devices while playing online games from their computers.
