Revolutionizing Communication: From Douglas Adams’ Babel Fish to X1 Earpieces

Tian was inspired to create a translation technology that could revolutionize communication, just like in science fiction. He looked to the novel “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams for inspiration. In the story, the Babel Fish automatically translates alien speech into a language the user can understand when it crawls into their ear, allowing characters from different worlds and cultures to converse normally.

Tian and his team aimed to create something new that would make communication effortless and seamless between individuals from different countries. They developed X1 earpieces that connect to a central device as well as other devices for networking. With these earpieces, people can communicate in their own language, even if they are speaking a different one.

Tian emphasized the importance of a standalone device that can be easily activated for seamless translation between languages. The process of turning on a phone, opening an app, and reading out text translations is too slow for casual conversations. With X1 earpieces, people can simply put them on and start speaking in their native tongue without any hassle.
