Revolutionary Rescue: The TY-3R Flying Buoy Combines Drone and Lifebuoy for Unparalleled Water Rescue Efficiency
Didiok Makings, a Chinese drone company, has produced the TY-3R Flying Buoy, a unique rescue vehicle that combines a four-rotor drone and a lifebuoy. When activated by rescuers on shore, it quickly flies to a person in distress at sea and lands on the water, turning into a flotation device that can support two adults. This allows swimmers to stay afloat until rescue workers can reach them and bring them back to shore.
The TY-3R is equipped with a 720p camera, which provides real-time vision to the operator as it flies to the designated destination. Once the rescue is complete, the drone can automatically fly back to its takeoff position with just the press of a button. It has a communication range of 1.1 km, a maximum speed of 47 km/h, and an operating time of over 10 minutes per battery charge. Additionally, it has good water resistance according to IP68 standards.
Priced at $11,803, the TY-3R is not the only rescue drone available for swimmers. Other models, such as Pars (USA), Little Ripper (Australia), and Auxdron (Spain), also offer similar functionalities but typically drop a separate flotation device rather than landing directly on the water. The TY-3R’s innovative design and capabilities make it a valuable asset for water rescue operations.
