Rescue Mission Successful in Gulf of Oman: 21 Crew Members Saved from Stranded Ship Amid Heavy Storms
Since Monday, torrential rains have been causing significant damage and loss of life in the region, including Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and the Strait of Hormuz. These natural disasters have resulted in the tragic loss of at least 18 lives, with reports indicating that heavy storms in the Gulf of Oman caused a ship carrying oil to capsize. However, fortunately for all involved, Iranian emergency services were able to rescue all 21 crew members from the Cook Islands-flagged vessel.
The vessel went down about 50 kilometers off the southern city of Jask, according to reports from IRNA news agency. The prompt response from rescue services led to a successful evacuation of all crew members who were originally from Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, five sailors required medical attention and were promptly treated by Jask emergency services. Despite this setback, their physical condition is reported to be good.
These natural disasters serve as a stark reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness and response efforts to protect and save lives in times of crisis.
