Rai Sends Letter of Disciplinary Complaint to Employee over Social Media Posts: CEO Addresses Controversial Issues at Supervisory Commission Hearing

Rai has sent a letter of disciplinary complaint to Serena Bortone regarding a post she published on her social profiles on 20 April regarding the Scurati affair. The CEO, Roberto Sergio, emphasized that the action is not a disciplinary measure but a request for clarification and the company will decide on further actions based on the responses received.

The investigation into Bortone’s violation of company policy regulations related to making public statements about company activities, news or events is ongoing. The CEO stated that it is necessary to address any procedural misalignments and individual behaviors related to the incident. The final outcome will determine whether any actions need to be taken to improve processes or intervene with employees involved.

In response to disciplinary proceedings against Bortone, Usigrai expressed their disapproval of the measures taken. The CEO addressed various issues within the company at a Supervisory Commission hearing, including attacks on Rai’s reputation, positive ratings results, handling of Franco Di Mare case and preparations for European elections. Additionally, the CEO mentioned the controversy surrounding John Travolta’s performance at Sanremo Festival as an example of malicious attacks aimed at discrediting Rai’s reputation.

Rai is taking legal action against parties involved in violating contract terms related to performances. The CEO emphasized the need to protect Rai from fake news and malicious attacks aimed at discrediting its reputation. Ongoing investigations are being conducted to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations in all aspects of operations. Any misconduct will be addressed, and appropriate actions will be taken to protect Rai’s integrity.
