Castle Country Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) Prioritizes Local Business Growth

Powering Local Economic Growth: A Look at the BEAR Initiative for Carbon and Emery Counties

The Castle Country Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) initiative is a volunteer group focused on promoting economic growth and job creation in Carbon and Emery counties. Led by Shanny Wilson, the Carbon County Economic Development & Tourism Director, BEAR aims to support local businesses in achieving their full potential.

The group hosts monthly General Meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month at Utah State University Eastern in Price. These meetings provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among local businesses, community members, leaders, and economic development stakeholders. The next meeting on April 25 will feature Brock Johansen, CEO of Emery Telcom, discussing collaborative efforts in economic development.

Attending these meetings is an excellent way to stay informed about developments and opportunities in the region. To learn more or get involved with BEAR, contact Nick Tatton, Price City Community Director at [communitydirector@priceutah.net](mailto:communitydirector@priceutah.net). Join us in supporting the growth and prosperity of our community through BEAR!
