Small businesses impacted by 2020 hurricanes can now apply for financial assistance

New Small Business Loan Program Offers Financial Support to Hurricane-Stricken Monroe Area Businesses: Zero Interest and 40% Forgiveness

The Restore Small Business Loan Program, launched by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, is a new initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to local businesses still recovering from hurricanes Laura and Delta. This program offers loans with zero percent interest and up to 40 percent of the loan amount can be forgiven, offering crucial support to businesses in need.

According to Cullen Curole from the South Central Planning and Development Commission, there is still a significant need for financial support in the business community, despite the passage of four years since the hurricanes occurred. The availability of federal funds presents an opportunity to help businesses get back on their feet and rebuild.

Business owners interested in applying for the Restore Small Business Loan Program can find more information on the South Central Planning and Development Commission’s website. This new resource aims to provide a lifeline to businesses that have struggled in the aftermath of the hurricanes, offering a helping hand during their recovery process.
