Music, Science, and Wonder: A Unique Gathering During the Total Solar Eclipse
In the aftermath of the Total Solar Eclipse, The Totality 2024 Festival in Hannibal, NY was a remarkable event that left attendees with a profound sense of awe and wonder. Laraaji, an ambient/new age music legend, shared his insights into representing the moon’s energy through 12 musical notes. He reflected on his time at Howard University in the 1960s and his experience observing the Total Solar Eclipse.
Dr. Nikole Lewis, a Cornell University astronomer, also participated in the event, discussing the necessary conditions for a Total Solar Eclipse to occur. She delved into topics like extraterrestrial life, Carl Sagan, and more. The festival was made possible by the support of the Simons Foundation as part of its In The Path of Totality Initiative.
