Michigan Adds Key Piece to Overhauled Basketball Program with Goldin’s Commitment
Vladislav Goldin, a 7-foot-1 center, has chosen to use his final season of college eligibility to play for Michigan under new head coach Dusty May. Goldin has been a key player for Florida Atlantic, averaging 15.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game over three seasons at the school. He began his college career at Texas Tech before transferring to FAU.
Michigan lost scoring and defensive presence when Hunter Dickinson transferred to Kansas, making Goldin’s commitment all the more valuable for the Wolverines. Goldin’s decision comes as part of a larger effort by May to overhaul the Michigan men’s basketball program. In addition to Goldin, transfers like Danny Wolf from Yale, Tre Donaldson from Auburn, Sam Walters from Alabama, Roddy Gayle Jr. from Ohio State, and Rubin Jones from North Texas have joined the team. Additionally, Michigan secured a commitment from Justin Pippen, son of basketball legend Scottie Pippen.
By committing to Michigan, Goldin has decided to withdraw his name from consideration for the 2024 NBA Draft, signaling his intention to focus on his final season of college basketball and help lead the Wolverines to success under Coach May.
