Mayo Clinic Health System Leases Integrated Research Workspace at UW-Eau Claire’s New Science and Health Sciences Building

The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has recently approved a 30-year lease for Mayo Clinic Health System to occupy integrated research workspace in the new Science and Health Sciences Building at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. This collaboration is expected to enhance research opportunities and academic programs for both organizations.

Mayo Clinic Health System has committed $13.7 million to the project and will have 10,000 square feet of research, instructional, office, and meeting space in the building. The space will be integrated into the UW-Eau Claire faculty and student spaces across all five floors of the building.

Construction of the $340.3 million state-of-the-art Science and Health Sciences Building is set to begin this summer. The 330,000-square-foot building will replace the outdated Phillips Hall and will provide space for multiple academic programs including biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, geography and anthropology, geology and environmental science, public health and environmental studies, neuroscience, materials science and biomedical engineering, physics and astronomy, and nursing.

The new Science and Health Sciences Building will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration in the field of healthcare and research. With Mayo Clinic Health System on board as a partner, students and faculty at UW-Eau Claire will have access to cutting-edge resources
