Local Partners Acquire Leading IT Services Provider SDS Technology in Effingham, Marking 40th Anniversary

Pike Avenue Partners, a group of three families with long-standing roots in the Effingham area, has recently acquired SDS Technology. The ownership group, consisting of the Bernie Blanchette, Paul Koerner, and Phil Koerner families, is excited to transition from being customers of SDS to now being part of the SDS family. Over the years, SDS has grown by acquiring local computer companies and has established itself as a leader in providing high-quality custom programming and IT services in the Effingham area. Their expertise in technology, prompt service, security solutions, training, and innovation have made them a trusted resource in the community.

Bernie Blanchette expressed excitement about the acquisition and the opportunity to support the existing customer base of SDS. The new ownership group aims to enhance SDS’s cybersecurity services by offering security risk assessments and expanding product lines to meet customer needs. SDS will continue to provide end-to-end risk assessment services and offer introductory security risk assessments through sweeping and forensic system reviews to help clients establish appropriate security controls.

All current staff members at SDS Technology will remain with the company, including Steve Schallert who will stay on for a period to oversee the transition. Schallert expressed his excitement about the change and how it will bring growth opportunities for SDS.

As Schallert looks forward to full retirement with his wife, he is confident that Pike Avenue Partners is well equipped to lead SDS into its next chapter of success. The new ownership group’s shared family values and community involvement ensures a smooth transition for both employees and customers alike.

The acquisition of SDS Technology marks Pike Avenue Partners’ 40th anniversary celebration. The new ownership group is committed to maintaining their strong reputation as providers of high-quality programming services while also expanding their offerings in IT services. They look forward to serving their customers for many more years ahead.
