“May the Science Be With You” Makes a Return to Las Vegas this Thursday

Join the Force: A Star Wars-Themed Science Event for Families in Las Vegas

A family-friendly, free event that combines science with the popular franchise, ‘May the Science Be With You,’ returns to Las Vegas on Thursday at 755 E. Flamingo Road. This unique experience is a collaboration between the Atomic Museum and Desert Research Institute (DRI). Visitors can expect to witness science demonstrations, participate in activities such as Padawan training and more. On-site will be food trucks and community partner booths.

The event offers an interactive experience for families with hands-on science demos and various STEM and STEAM activities. Shawna Witt, DRI STEM Education Coordinator, highlighted the engaging nature of the event, with engineering tools like snap circuits and a remote controlled model rover available for kids to explore. Matt Malinowski, Atomic Museum Director of Education, emphasized the appeal of the event for Star Wars fans, encouraging attendees to come meet some characters, have fun and possibly learn something new.

As part of the Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival, ‘May the Science Be With You’ will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., providing a perfect opportunity for families to enjoy an educational and entertaining afternoon. In addition to the event, the Atomic Museum will offer half-priced admission to museum exhibits during this time.
