Jimmies Emerge Victorious Over Tigers in Doubleheader Thriller
On Friday, April 19, the University of Jamestown faced off against Doane University in a doubleheader. The Jimmies emerged victorious with a thrilling 2-1 win over the Tigers at the Nelson Family Bubble.
In the first game, the Tigers got an early lead when Anna Prauner hit a sacrifice fly that scored Jeryn Allen, putting them up 1-0. However, in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Jimmies responded with a stunning comeback. Mackenzie Lefebvre hit a double that drove in two runners, giving the Jimmies a commanding 2-1 lead.
The second game was just as close as the first. Hope Ransome of the Jimmies pitched a complete game and gave up only one run on four hits while striking out six and walking two. On the other hand, Abbi Arroyo of Doane started the game and pitched 5.1 innings, allowing one earned run on five hits with one walk and one strikeout.
