Jets Overhaul Sports Performance/Science Department with Multiple Changes

Jets Shake Up Performance and Sports Science Staff for 2024 Season: Focus on Improving Offensive Line and Injury Prevention

The Jets have announced changes to their sports performance and sports science staff for the upcoming 2024 season, including the departure of director of high performance Brad DeWeese. However, the team has not made any new additions on the performance side of things.

According to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, the departures were not based on performance issues but rather a need to improve the offensive line’s injury history. To address this issue, the team has added older tackles Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses in an effort to improve the line’s overall performance. Keeping these players on the field will be crucial for a successful 2024 season.

Despite some key personnel leaving, including assistant director of high performance Robert Sausaman and director of sports science Matt Sams, the Jets are making changes to their sports performance and sports science staff in hopes of minimizing injuries and improving player performance.
