Israel vows to continue fighting until Hamas is defeated: The United States’ decision to abstain from UN resolution on Gaza ceasefire sparks controversy
The foreign minister congratulated the United States on their decision to veto a distorted proposal that was rejected by the UN Security Council. Six months after the October 7th massacre, the Security Council failed to condemn the crimes of Hamas. Israel will continue to fight until Hamas falls and all Israeli abductees are released.
About three weeks ago, the Security Council adopted a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan and the unconditional release of all abductees. Fourteen countries voted in favor of the decision, while the United States abstained from voting, choosing not to use their veto power. The UN Security Council emphasized the urgent need to increase aid to Gaza and demanded the removal of all obstacles to aid transfer.
