India’s Future Captain: Shreyas Iyer Impresses Selectors with Leadership Skills on National Duty

India A captain Shreyas Iyer is being groomed to become a future captain of the national cricket team, according to former BCCI chief selector MSK Prasad. Despite missing out on a central contract due to not playing domestic cricket while on national duty, Iyer was recognized for his talent and leadership skills. He impressed selectors while leading the India A side, winning eight out of ten series during his tenure.

Prasad highlighted that Iyer’s captaincy abilities were noticed early on, making him a top contender for the India captaincy post. The selectors were considering either Iyer or Rishabh Pant for the leadership role, with Iyer standing out as a potential captain. Prasad also praised Iyer’s growth as a leader during his stint as captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

With KKR providing him with valuable team management experience, Prasad believes that Iyer is on his way to evolving into a successful captain in the coming years. The selectors see potential in Iyer’s leadership skills and hope to see him excel in the role in the future.
