Idaho’s Transportation Technology Center: Bridging the Gap between Education and Industry
The new Transportation Technology Center at the College of Southern Idaho is set to open its doors in October 2025, following a groundbreaking ceremony that brought together personnel from the college, government leaders, and members of the Twin Falls community. Tiffany Seeley-Case, Dean of General and Transfer Education, spoke about the center’s mission to be a hub for excellence in education and workforce development.
The center will house the college’s Heavy Equipment Ag Technology and Diesel Technology programs and will also support industry training and expand a dual credit collaboration with the Twin Falls School District. This project is being funded by the Idaho Department of Public Works and CSI, with a total budget of $15 million. Starr Corporation has been named as the construction manager for the project.
Idaho Lt. Governor Scott Bedke emphasized the need for well-trained employees in the transportation and agricultural industries during his remarks at the ceremony. He highlighted job openings for 600 graduates in Idaho, stressing that specialized training is essential in facilities like the new Transportation Technology Center.
