Haneda Airport Ranked the Cleanest in the World, Leading by Example in the Fight Against COVID-19
Tokyo’s Haneda Airport has been ranked as the cleanest airport in the world, according to the Skytrax World Airport Awards. The organization recognized Haneda for its impeccable cleanliness, including the floors, seating, public areas and restrooms.
The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the importance of cleanliness at airports and those that maintain high standards are highly regarded by travelers. In addition to being named the cleanest airport in the world, Haneda was also ranked as the fourth best overall airport by Skytrax. This accolade is a testament to Japan’s commitment to providing a safe and hygienic travel experience for its passengers.
Skytrax also recognized other airports in Asia for their top 10 cleanliness rankings with nine of them being located in Asia. Seoul Incheon, Singapore Changi, Doha Hamad, Hong Kong and Taiwan Taoyuan were among these top spots. The overall winners also topped their regional categories: Tokyo Haneda in Asia, Zurich in Europe and Doha Hamad in Middle East.
Airports worldwide are prioritizing cleanliness due to serving millions of passengers each year. The Skytrax World Airport Awards have been recognizing excellence in airports for 25 years based on customer satisfaction surveys from travelers worldwide.
