Hands-On Construction Technology Program at Montana Tech: Student Reflections and Photography
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Montana Tech students were busy working on their construction technology program housing projects at Highlands College. Two years ago, the school secured funding to begin building houses on their campus, giving students practical experience in a lab setting before they entered the workforce.
According to Rich Miller, a construction technology instructor at the school, “The program ties in everything they learn in the classroom. It’s a full immersion experience.” The students were seen cutting batten strips with a sliding compound miter saw and putting up interior paint as part of their project. Meanwhile, Braydon Cetraro was reflecting on the roof of a construction trailer as he measured and marked wood.
