Bullish Trend: Wärtsilä, Purmo, and Kemira Drive Helsinki Stock Exchange’s Strong Performance

Global Stock Markets Rise on Friday as Helsinki and New York Exchanges Lead the Way

On Friday, the Helsinki Stock Exchange saw an increase in stock prices for several earnings publishers. The general index closed with a 1.1 percent increase, reaching 9,835 points. Following this, the main indices of the New York stock exchanges also rose, with the S&P 500 up 1.1 percent, Nasdaq up two percent, and Dow Jones up 0.4 percent.

Nokia was the most traded shares on Friday and closed down 1.5 percent, while Nordea’s share price rose by just 0.3 percent. Neste faced a significant drop in its share price after its January-March results fell short of expectations, while Wärtsilä reported an operating profit that exceeded analysts’ expectations, resulting in an 11.4 percent increase in its share price.

Other companies also released their first-quarter results on Friday. Kemira saw a slight decrease in turnover and EBITDA but reported strong profitability and experienced a 12.2 percent increase in its share price
