Armed Palestinian Groups in Gaza Rob Multiple Banks, Stealing 66 Million Euros

Gaza Strip Bank Robberies: Hamas Posing as Gunmen, $33.6M Stolen in 3 Days

In April, a series of bank robberies occurred in the Gaza Strip, with Palestinian armed groups including one posing as Hamas being involved. Approximately 66 million euros were stolen from the Bank of Palestine, with one robbery occurring on April 16.

On this day, individuals entered the main bank branch in Gaza City through a hole in the ceiling and made off with safes holding about 2.8 million euros. The following day, they returned to the bank and detonated three safes containing around 29 million euros. Two days later, the total amount stolen by the robbers reached 33.6 million euros.

These incidents have brought attention to a significant security concern in the Gaza Strip, as armed groups continue to engage in criminal activities such as bank robberies. The Bank of Palestine is now taking steps to address these vulnerabilities and ensure the safety of their assets and personnel in the future.
