Twitter to Stop Hiding Responses from Blocked Accounts

Breaking: Social Media Platform X Gives Users More Control with New Account Blocking Policy

Social media platform X is making a significant change to its account blocking policy that will give users more control over their interactions with other accounts on the platform. From now on, users will be able to view responses from accounts they have previously blocked.

Previously, when a user blocked another account, the blocked account could still respond to the user’s posts, but the user who initiated the block would not be able to see these responses. However, X has made changes so that users can now see responses from accounts they have blocked.

The goal of this change is to empower users by giving them greater control over their experience while maintaining public visibility of posts. The Engineering team at X stated that this change aims to allow users to identify and report any incorrect content that they cannot see before it spreads on the platform.

Elon Musk, the owner of X, had previously expressed his disapproval of the blocking feature and announced that he would remove it except for direct messages. Despite being a requirement of application stores like Google Play and Apple Store, Musk argued that it did not make sense. However, he ultimately decided not to remove it entirely due to user feedback and demand for more control over their interactions on the platform.

Overall, X’s new account blocking policy change is an important step towards empowering users and giving them greater control over their online experiences on the platform.
