Reportedly heading to TCU is LSU transfer Hailey Van Lith.

From National Champs to Final Four: TCU Welcomes Former LSU Guard Hailey Van Lith

Hailey Van Lith, a former LSU point guard, has announced her decision to transfer to TCU for her final year of eligibility. Van Lith spent one season at LSU before entering the transfer portal following the Tigers’ loss to Iowa in the Elite Eight. She previously played three years at Louisville before joining the Tigers in April 2023, after their national championship.

During her time at LSU, Van Lith’s performance was somewhat inconsistent. Her field goal percentage decreased from .411 to .388, and her scoring average dropped from 19.7 points per game at Louisville to 11.6 at LSU. This decline in production could be attributed to a change in position, as Van Lith transitioned into a starting point guard role with the Tigers.

Although Van Lith has not spoken publicly about her reasons for transferring, her former coach at Louisville, Jeff Walz, provided some insight into her thought process. Walz mentioned that Van Lith had aspirations of being drafted this year and felt that another year of development in a more comfortable position was necessary. Walz praised Van Lith’s work ethic and determination to improve during her time at Louisville.

Despite Van Lith’s departure from Louisville, Walz expressed his support for the player and acknowledged her dedication and hard work throughout their time together. Van Lith’s decision to transfer to TCU marks a new chapter in her collegiate basketball career as she looks forward to making the most of her final year of eligibility.

Van Lith is expected to play an important role on TCU’s team next season and will bring valuable experience and leadership skills with him.

The Horned Frogs are excited about having Van lith on board as he is a proven scorer with excellent ball control skills who can score from anywhere on the court.

TCU coach Jamie Dixon spoke highly of Van lith’s arrival saying “He is a high-level recruit who brings experience and leadership skills with him.” Dixon added that “We are thrilled about having him on our team”
