Exceptional Athletes: The Courier Journal Unveils its High School Girls Athlete of the Week Nominees for Softball and Lacrosse

The Courier Journal is excited to announce the nominees for its girls athlete of the week. These athletes have demonstrated exceptional talent on softball diamonds and lacrosse fields.

One of the nominees is Tia Ice from Assumption, who had a standout performance with seven hits and seven RBIs in games against Meade County, Mercy, and South Warren. Another outstanding athlete is Kylie McRoberts from Whitefield Academy, who picked up two wins and struck out 16 batters in games against Portland Christian and Jeffersontown.

Sophie Sheehan from Ballard also made the list, with an impressive eight-goal performance in games against Collins and North Oldham. Allie Streble from Mercy also impressed with eight hits, including a home run, three RBIs, and a walk in games against North Bullitt, Assumption, and Bullitt East.

Hailey Voss from Sacred Heart contributed five goals and an assist to help Sacred Heart secure wins over Mercy and Mariemont (Cincinnati). To vote for your favorite athlete of the week, visit The Courier Journal’s website before 6 p.m. Thursday. The winner will be announced on Friday morning!
