El Paso High School Softball and Baseball Teams Shine in April 15th Victories
On Monday, April 15th, the high school softball scene in El Paso was ablaze with excitement as Chapin emerged victorious over El Paso High with a score of 13-2. El Paso High’s S. Gomez and D. Villagrana had impressive performances, each contributing an RBI to the game. Chapin pitcher Khloe Jensen had a standout outing, striking out 2 batters. Fatima Hernandez also shone in the game, going 2-2 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Yari Acosta and Nialani Mata also had strong showings at the plate.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Riverside secured a win against Bowie with a score of 15-3. Ferreyra pitched a phenomenal game, striking out 8 batters. Cervantes, Cardenas, and Ferreyra were standout hitters for Riverside. Olivas hit a home run with 2 RBIs to contribute to the victory. Ysleta also emerged triumphant with a win over Parkland by a score of 17-5. Santiago Osorio pitched well, striking out 5 batters in just three innings. Louie Lopez, Tavo Sanchez, Evan Martinez, and Daniel Terrazas all had strong performances at the plate for Ysleta.
On the baseball front, Canutillo shut out Andress with a score of 14-0 on Monday afternoon. I. Garza led both his team on the mound and at the plate while Melendez, Fargas and Guerra were also key contributors to their team’s success.
