Despite fluctuating weather, there was an increase in traffic on Spanish roads during Easter. This holiday period saw a slight rise in gasoline and diesel prices, with gasoline prices increasing for 10 consecutive weeks and reaching near last Easter’s levels. Diesel prices were slightly lower than the previous year. At the beginning of the second phase of Operation Exit, a liter of 95 gasoline costs 1.63 euros, up 1.24% from the previous week, and a liter of diesel costs 1.5 euros, up 0.52%. Gasoline prices have risen by 2.32% in the last month, while diesel has become slightly cheaper at 1.35% less expensive than it was before.

Drivers filling their tanks before their trips will pay around €88.88 for gasoline and €84.26 for diesel at some service stations charging between €1.35 to €1.95 for gasoline and €1.16 to €1.99 for diesel.

While fuel prices are higher compared to last year’s levels, they remain far from maximum prices reached in the summer of 2022 due to lower taxes and raw material costs that make Spain have lower fuel prices compared to the euro zone average.

The second phase of Operation Exit began with a slight increase in traffic compared to last year’s level, with around 9.6 million trips representing around 58% of all trips planned during Easter.
