Duke Johnson Bids Farewell to the NFL: A Tribute to a Prolific Running Back’s Career and Legacy

In a social media post on Sunday, running back Duke Johnson announced his retirement. He looked back on his journey, reflecting on the fact that he never imagined becoming the all-time leading rusher at the University of Miami. Despite his humble beginnings, Johnson went on to be selected by the Browns in the third round of the 2015 draft. During his time in Cleveland, he showcased his skills by running 299 times for 1,286 yards and five touchdowns. He also proved to be a valuable asset in the passing game, accumulating 235 catches for 2,170 yards and eight scores.

In 2019, Johnson was traded to the Texans and spent two seasons in Houston before returning to Miami to play for the Dolphins in 2021. Despite a brief stint with the Bills in 2022, Johnson’s career stats speak for themselves – with 532 carries for 2,265 yards and 311 catches for 2,870 yards. Throughout his career, he scored a total of 23 touchdowns, leaving a lasting impact on the teams he played for.
