Cowboys Set to Ink Deal with Linebacker Damien Wilson

Dallas Cowboys Bring Back Linebacker Damien Wilson to Boost Defense and Offense

In recent news, the Dallas Cowboys have decided to bring back linebacker Damien Wilson to their roster. According to Todd Archer of ESPN, Wilson had not been in the league for most of the previous season, but he signed with the Cowboys’ practice squad on January 3. He had served a four-game suspension for violating the Personal Conduct Policy.

Wilson’s last appearance in a game was in Week 18 of the 2022 season with the Panthers. Originally drafted by the Cowboys in the fourth round in 2015, Wilson spent his first four seasons in Dallas before playing for Kansas City, Jacksonville, and Carolina.

The Cowboys made this move after drafting Marist Liufau in the third round and finding that they needed depth at the linebacker position. Wilson is now the fourth outside free agent that the Cowboys have added to their roster, joining Ezekiel Elliott, Eric Kendricks, and Royce Freeman. This addition will undoubtedly provide a boost to their defense and give them more options on offense.
