Cowboys Bolster Linebacker Position with Return of Damien Wilson and Addition of Marist Liufau
The Cowboys are making moves to strengthen their linebacker position by bringing back Damien Wilson, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. Wilson re-joined the team after spending most of last season out of the league, signing with the Cowboys’ practice squad in January. Despite serving a four-game suspension last season for violating the Personal Conduct Policy, Wilson is back in action. His last game was in Week 18 of the 2022 season with the Panthers.
The Cowboys’ decision to re-sign Wilson comes just two days after drafting Marist Liufau in the third round, indicating a focus on strengthening their linebacker group. The addition of Wilson marks the fourth outside free agent the Cowboys have added, joining Ezekiel Elliott, Eric Kendricks, and Royce Freeman. This move not only provides depth at the linebacker position but also adds experienced players to the Cowboys’ roster as they prepare for the upcoming season.
