One of the World’s Largest Costco Stores is Coming to Fresno

Costco’s New Retail Emporium in Fresno: Bringing Better Shopping Experience with 50% Larger Warehouse and Improved Facilities

Costco is set to open a new retail emporium in Fresno, California, with construction of the warehouse set to begin in the fall. The new location will be approximately 50% larger than the average U.S. Costco store, at 146,000 square feet, and will feature a 219,000-square-foot building, a 32-pump gas station, a car wash, and a dedicated food delivery service. Originally planned to be over 240,000 square feet, the developers had to scale down the size of the new warehouse after community concerns. The new location aims to offer Costco members a better shopping experience with improved facilities and services.

The existing Costco location on West Shaw Avenue has been open since 1985 but growth and changing times necessitated the need for a larger and modernized warehouse. With the approval of the city council, local residents and Costco fans are eagerly awaiting the completion of the new and improved warehouse in Fresno which is expected to create 37 full-time jobs and generate $13 million in tax revenue with $3 million staying in Fresno County.
