Kawhi Leonard sidelined for Game 4 against Mavericks as knee inflammation lingers, potential for extended absence

Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard Sits Out Game 4 Due to Inflammation in Right Knee: Unclear Timetable for Return

The Los Angeles Clippers have announced that Kawhi Leonard will be absent for Game 4 of the playoffs against the Dallas Mavericks due to inflammation in his right knee. This decision was made by the organization, and it is the same knee that Leonard had surgery on in the past. Despite making a strong comeback in Games 2 and 3 after missing eight games during the regular season and Game 1 of the series, Leonard’s pain has forced him to sit out Game 4.

Lawrence Frank, president of basketball operations for the Clippers, stated that there is no clear timeline for Leonard’s return until he can move without restrictions. Frank described the inflammation in Leonard’s knee as “tricky” and expressed uncertainty about when he would be able to return to action. The Clippers are currently trailing 2-1 in the series against the Mavericks with Leonard playing in both games they lost.

There is hope for Leonard’s return if he can demonstrate normal movement, but Frank emphasized that there is no definitive timetable for his comeback. The focus for the Clippers remains on overcoming their current deficit against the Mavericks before considering Leonard’s availability for future games.
