Chiropractor Charged for Indecent Assault and Battery: Massachusetts Man Faces Allegations of Inappropriate Touching During Treatment Sessions

A Massachusetts man, Jose Mendez, is facing charges for assaulting two women while operating an unlicensed chiropractic business. Mendez, 60, is charged with indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 and indecent exposure. The Middlesex District Attorney, Marian Ryan, stated that Mendez was running the illegal business on Cross Street in Somerville.

According to the prosecutors, two women were inappropriately touched during treatment sessions. In one incident, Mendez allegedly unzipped his pants and exposed himself to one of the women. Mendez was arraigned in Somerville District Court, where his bail was set at $5,500 and he was ordered to stay away from the victims. The judge also prohibited Mendez from practicing as a chiropractor.

After his arrest, WBZ-TV interviewed Mendez where he denied the allegations but did not offer further comment stating that he needed to speak to his lawyer. Matt Schooley of CBS News is a digital producer at CBS Boston and has been a member of the WBZ news team for the past decade.
