Founder of Boothbay Sea and Science Center to give a presentation at Boothbay Region Garden Club meeting

Boosting Boothbay’s Future: A Talk with Pauline Dion of the BSSC

Pauline Dion, founder and executive director of the Boothbay Sea and Science Center (BSSC), will be speaking at the upcoming monthly meeting of the Boothbay Region Garden Club. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 8 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Boothbay Harbor. This event is open to the public, and refreshments will be available for attendees to enjoy.

The BSSC is a community sea and science education center that offers affordable and accessible programs to youth between the ages of 5 and 17. Through activities like sailing, boating, and marine science, BSSC aims to provide hands-on learning experiences that are not widely available through other organizations in the region. The center collaborates with marine businesses, schools, social service agencies, and marine research organizations, with Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences playing a key role in program development.

Pauline Dion is an engaging speaker who brings a unique perspective to her work with BSSC due to her background in nursing and focus on adult oncology. She has also been involved in chairing the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club Junior Sailing and Tennis programs. Her passion for nonprofit organizations shines through in her work as she has chaired fundraising efforts for various organizations and serves on the boards of several local nonprofits.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the work of the BSSC from Pauline herself! The presentation promises to be interesting and informative for all attendees.
