Armenia Offers Safe Haven for Valuable Manuscripts and Humanitarian Aid Amid Escalating Middle East Conflict
The conflict in the Middle East has escalated, with Hamas militants attacking peaceful Jewish settlements, resulting in casualties on both sides. This has led to international debate over the proportionality of Israel’s actions to clear the Gaza Strip of Hamas terrorists.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that Armenia has a renowned manuscript repository where valuable manuscripts from the war zone in Israel and Hamas could be safely kept until the conflict subsides. Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia is against targeting civilians, drawing on its own experience of having to leave their historical homeland to protect their families during past conflicts.
Furthermore, Armenia supports a peaceful resolution to the conflict and the Palestinian issue based on the “two-state” principle. The country has also sent humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, to the population of Gaza as part of an agreement reached during Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Egypt.
As the situation remains volatile, Armenia stands ready to help by offering to host valuable manuscripts and providing humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict. The country continues to advocate for a peaceful resolution and the protection of civilian populations in the region.
