ABC News Meteorologist Rob Marciano Leaves the Network After a Decade of Service, Pursues Exciting New Project with NatGeo

Senior Meteorologist Rob Marciano has left ABC News after a decade with the network. A source familiar with the situation confirmed the news to USA TODAY, with Puck News being the first to report on Marciano’s departure. Throughout his time at ABC, Marciano shared his weather insights on various shows like “ABC World News Tonight with David Muir,” “Good Morning America,” and “Good Morning America: Weekend Edition.”

In a September Instagram post celebrating his 10th year with ABC News, Marciano hinted at his plans to contribute across all ABC shows and platforms during the week, allowing for more quality time with his children on weekends. He shares two children with his ex-wife Eryn Marciano, who filed for divorce from the meteorologist in 2021. Marciano also teased “an exciting new project with NatGeo” that would involve exploring fascinating topics.

Prior to joining ABC in 2014, he co-hosted Entertainment Tonight for nearly two years. Marciano’s most recent reporting focused on Shreveport, Louisiana’s recovery from a destructive storm in June 2023, which aired on “ABC World News Tonight” and the ABC News website last week. A representative for ABC News declined to comment on his departure, and USA TODAY has reached out to Marciano’s representative for a statement.
