2021 Girls Basketball Player of the Year Awards – Meet Your Nominees!

The Girls Basketball Player of the Year Awards, presented by SCHEELS, is proud to announce the nominees for this year’s prestigious award. The winner will be revealed during a live show on June 10 at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines. This award is brought to you by Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company.

The Iowa High School Sports Awards is part of a nationwide program that recognizes student-athletes over nine months, culminating in a red-carpet event this spring. The show celebrates athletes, coaches, and teams from across the state involved in sanctioned Iowa high school sports.

At the live show, these nominees will be acknowledged along with players of the year in 21 other sports. The event will also feature elite awards for student-athletes on and off the field, including a Courage Award, Coaches of the Year, Teams of the Year, and Athletes of the Year for both boys and girls.
