During the upcoming spring weekends, Trenitalia is expected to see more than 17 million travelers. This is a significant increase compared to previous years, with nearly half of these travelers choosing to book their tickets through digital channels. This growth in bookings demonstrates the growing preference for sustainable transportation among Italians who are increasingly choosing the train for their travels.

Popular destinations for these long weekends include cities of art such as Florence, Naples, Rome, and Venice, as well as foreign destinations like Switzerland. Travelers seeking seaside destinations are also drawn to regions like Puglia, Liguria, Sicily, and Calabria. Additionally, there is an increasing number of travelers visiting villages and small towns across Italy. Favorites among these include Cortona, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, Urbino, and Fermo.
