Exploring the World of Animal Science: A Hands-on Learning Experience for Young Minds in Nebraska
The annual Animal Science Discover Day is an exciting event that invites all youth aged 8-18 years old to learn more about the livestock industry and career opportunities in the field. The event will take place on May 29th in Curtis, NE on the NCTA Campus, from 9:00am to 3:30 pm. Participants will be divided into junior and senior tracts to allow for more in-depth learning for older youth.
The sessions are designed to be fun learning experiences in a relaxed atmosphere, with Nebraska Extension educators, UNL Animal Science professors, and NCTA teachers leading the way. This is a great opportunity for youth to learn more about science, agricultural literacy, and technology and apply these skills to their 4-H projects and explore potential careers related to Animal Science.
Parents and adults interested in the livestock industry and educating youth are also encouraged to register and participate. The cost is $15/participant for those who register and pay online by May 22; late registrations cost $20/participant. This fee includes lunch provided by the Frontier County 4-H Council and Ag Valley Co-op.
