How WhatsApp’s new chat filters function

WhatsApp’s New “Chat Filters” Feature: A Game-Changer for Small Businesses and Startups

Meta’s popular messaging app, WhatsApp, has recently introduced a significant update to improve the organization and accessibility of its user interface. The new feature, “chat filters,” splits the home screen into three distinct sections: All, Unread, and Groups. This update aims to make it easier for users to manage and access conversations.

Chat filters are designed to help small businesses, startups and interaction-based businesses such as travel groups optimize customer engagement without needing a new phone or number. The three categories introduced are as follows:

1. Everyone: This section contains all conversations, both individual and group, sorted starting from the most recent.

2. Unread: All unread messages are visible here, sorted by the most recent, whether they are individual or group chats.

3. Groups: This section is dedicated exclusively to group conversations, both read and unread, organized by the time of the last message.

A Meta spokesperson commented on the new feature stating that they believe filters will make it easier for people to stay organized and find the most important conversations while navigating messages more effectively. To access these new features, users need to update their WhatsApp app to the latest version available. The upgrade may not be immediate for everyone and may take a few days if successful on the first attempt.
