WhatsApp, a popular messaging application used by over 2 billion people worldwide, is taking steps to combat spam and fraudulent accounts. The platform has recently introduced an anti-spam feature that automatically suspends accounts that engage in spamming activities, without the need for users to report them.
This new system was discovered by the specialized site WABetainfo in the latest beta version of the app for Android. It aims to prevent fraudulent accounts from sending mass messages containing fictitious business offers, fraudulent job postings, or suspicious content. Suspended accounts will receive a message notifying them of the restriction and will temporarily lose the ability to initiate new conversations.
While a confirmed release date has not yet been announced, this upcoming update will allow WhatsApp to analyze account behavior and automatically suspend those engaging in spamming activities. Users who receive a suspension will have the opportunity to correct their actions and avoid future penalties.
In addition to these anti-spam measures, WhatsApp has recently introduced a new way to organize events within groups. This feature allows users to create events for meetings or gatherings directly on the platform, with attendees receiving automatic notifications as the event approaches. The events feature is currently available for Community groups, with plans to expand to all groups in the near future.
Furthermore, WhatsApp has also enhanced responses in ad groups, allowing administrators to gather feedback from members while keeping the group organized and easy to navigate. Responses are grouped together to provide context, and notifications are muted for everyone to minimize interruptions.
Overall, these recent updates aim to improve the user experience on WhatsApp by combating spam, organizing group events, and enhancing communication within various group settings.
