Utah’s Commencement Celebrates 118 Graduating Student-Athletes: Recognizing Academic Excellence and Achievements in Sport
A total of 118 current or former Utah student-athletes are set to receive their degrees as part of the University of Utah’s Commencement on Thursday, May 2. This event recognizes graduates from Fall 2023, and Spring and Summer 2024 who have earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The University’s 155th general commencement can be viewed on livestream at 6 p.m. MT on Thursday at www.utah.edu/live.
Utah’s commitment to academic excellence is reflected in the high graduation rate of its student-athletes, with a 94% figure in the most recent NCAA GSR Report released in December 2023. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Utah’s score has been 93% or higher and ranks second in the Pac-12 behind Stanford.
The student-athletes graduating represent a variety of sports including baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, cross country and track & field, football, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, skiing, soccer, softball, men’s swimming & diving, women’s swimming & diving, men’s tennis
