Unfortunate Electricity Line Repair Accident Leaves Four Workers Burned and Hospitalized
On May 8th, four workers from Cho Lon Electricity Company sustained severe burns while repairing electricity at an underground cable line in District 8. The accident resulted in a fire and explosion, causing the workers to suffer from burns.
The patients were rushed to Cho Ray Hospital where they received treatment from Dr. Ngo Duc Hiep, head of the Department of Plastic Surgery. The most severely injured patient was a 28-year-old male who had burns covering 80% of his body on his head, chest, abdomen, limbs, and eyes. The doctors provided pain relief, intravenous fluids, tetanus prevention, blood tests, and CT scans for the patient.
Dr. Hiep stated that the prognosis for the patient was still uncertain due to the extent of his burns. However, he noted that the other three patients were in stable condition and had been treated for pain relief and tetanus prevention before being discharged from the hospital.
The incident has sparked investigations into the cause of the electrical accident and how it can be prevented in the future to avoid such incidents from happening again.
