Pivotal Roundtable Discusses Ultrasound Training and Certification for Primary Maternal Health Providers

Transforming Maternal Health through Point-of-Care Ultrasound Training: A Global Summit Discussion hosted by Inteleos

The WHO World Health Assembly and the AI for Good Global Summit are set to host a roundtable discussion on maternal and fetal health, led by Inteleos. The event, titled “Advancing Maternal and Fetal Health through POCUS Training and Certification,” will take place on Wednesday, 29th May 2024 at the Warwick Hotel in Geneva.

The initiative aims to highlight the importance of certifying primary maternal health clinicians in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) to reduce maternal mortality by 2030. The discussion will draw attention to disparities in maternal and child health services in low-income countries and advocate for expanded ultrasound training and certification. With the increasing availability of affordable ultrasound equipment, there is a need for enhanced training to ensure patient safety. Improving ultrasound proficiency among clinicians will not only enhance coverage but also improve the quality and accessibility of maternal care.
